We’re conducting a short piece of research into how engineering, manufacturing and industrial businesses across the North West of England approach marketing and winning customers. This research will form the basis for an industry snapshot, aimed at helping those responsible for marketing within industrial and engineering businesses.

The North West of England has one of the UK’s strongest engineering, industrial and manufacturing sectors. Many companies still rely heavily on referrals, reputation, and long-standing relationships, while at the same time more buyers are researching suppliers online before making contact.

The survey closes at 23:59 on 30 April 2026.

Eligibility: This survey is intended for individuals working within engineering, manufacturing or industrial businesses based in the North West of England.Responses should reflect the experience of someone involved in, or familiar with, how the business generates enquiries or approaches marketing.

The aim of this research is to better understand:

  • How engineering, industrial and manufacturing businesses currently generate enquiries

  • What marketing activities companies are investing in

  • The challenges businesses face when trying to increase visibility or win new work

  • How businesses in these industries have prepared for advances in digital technology, specifically relating to marketing.
